I don’t claim to be a highly religious person nor one to quote the Bible, Torah, Qu’uran etc. But I think, somewhere in those texts it says:
"Know thy place….or get yo assed whooped (or ugly stares)".
Now, of course it’s written in more methodically language and doesn’t use words like “ass” or “whooped”, but I am thinking this is one of the lessons we were supposed to learn. Unfortunately, I did not; probably missed that class because I was watching “Hey, Arnold” and didn’t see Sunday school as a reason to miss my favorite show.
Despite that fact, its probably a lesson I should’ve tried to atleast get the cliff notes. Why? Because for the first time in my (very) short work history that I am the bad guy.
There is one reason and one reason only:
When teachers are given the day off, DO NOT schedule an event they need to help with on that day then SEND AN EMAIL before administration sends one about the event. The icing on the cake was me signing my name.
Yes, i am exaggerating. How did you know? But regardless of my interpretation of their looks, that did happen. I didn’t get my ass whopped, but I got some definitive cold shoulders today and probably will get the usual hush tones in the staff cafe as I heat up my hot pocket.
So soon-to-be-employed students, be weary! For if thy takes away a free day from teachers, thy will get cut (or just the cold shoulder, either way it’s bad).
